Nice to hear others do "strange" things too! Every gun I aquire gets taken apart and cleaned, the day it comes home. After that it will sit by my TV chair so it can be "fondled" at will, until I have time to take it to the range. (There are no kids in our house!)
My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I tell her it has a purpose. By taking it apart I become familar with the internal workings and by fondleing I learn how to handle it. This way, when I take it to the range there are fewer surprises. Plus if there are problems I'm better able to determine their extent at the time.
Anyway - me too!!!
