Re: variable Luger
German handgun law being as it is, there´s no other way of owning more than one Luger. Once you´ve overcome the dogma of the "fully numbered" gun, there´s not much to stop you from using any barrel and receiver from carbine length to one inch Mini in both calibres (9 mm & 7.65 mm).Fitting the receiver to the grip is not one of the major problems and if you can try out the fit, you should be able to see whether it is too loose or too tight quite easily. A tight fit is often the result of torque applied when the receiver was re-barreled. German ex-servicemen have often told me that they never saw a "fully numbered" P 08 during the last years of the war and wouldn´t trust any of them to be genuine. Most contributors to the Forum corroborate that they have no compunction in "making up" a fully numbered gun. If you are not a very serious collector, your´s is a good idea. Patrick
