Hi Luke! I've not got a real grip on the situation... but I can tell you, it's real hard to tell by the photos... there is a lot of repro sideplates out there... but they are ALL cast... it is easy to tell the orig. ones by the machined area on the backside... i have seen several orig. un-numbered sideplates in my 25+ years of collecting... but they are certainly not common, and i've seen none recently... sideplates are definitly one of the more desirable luger parts ... All we/I need are some 75 year old machinest!!!
