Alaska is the last bastion of the "end of the road-ers". I live in an area where there was once a few E-O-R's but the serious ones have packed up their camo and headed for Nome. There humor is a little quirky, but if you are tough, bearable.

As a military type, I am sure you are familiar with the profile of "90 day wonders". Bill is politely trying to persuade those not to be "too full of themselves". Saves embarrassment to themselves on down the road.
