Yes, all my markings on the iron are marked the other way. From what I can tell from the pictures of the iron, the wood on the sides COULD be proper. But the pictures in the wood don't look right either. But that could be just because of the cameras flash. I could not see any proof marks on the wood.

I have one stock which has the serial number on the wood on the stocks neck. At first, I though that I got stuck with a repro. But then I saw an example of it in Walters book, "The Luger Book". I can't find it now that I am looking for it. There is another odd placement of the serial numbers in the same book on page 245. The artillery that I have that matches that serial number is a 1918 artillery, so that may explain the placement.
