Dear friends,
I want to share with you two very exciting experiences I done in this vacation. First of all I bought a very interesting Turkish holster for LP08. As you know a few Lugers had been left behind in Turkey after 1918 by German military advisers. Of course these pistols were used by Turkish army. The testimonies of this employ are very rare. Two years ago a good French book showed this very rare LP08 holster. With this item, I really believe that the holster description in my LP08 book (available in April) is one of the most complete.
The second point is my visit to Mr. Regnier, a very important European collector. He lives in Swiss, one of the European country in which the law concerning gun is not strict at all.
I was very interesting in taking pictures for my book. Actually Mr. Regnier has in his collection the Borchard-Luger number 6, used in Swiss acceptance tests, one of rarest Luger. I am interested on this pistol because of, according with Bobbaâ??s book, the original configuration was with a 6â? barrel and a stock. The Swiss army was not interested in the utilisation of pistol-carbine so it was modified in the current configuration. In my book I have dedicated a chapter to the ancestor of LP08 and this prototype is the one of first example of pistol-carbine.
Mr. Regnier has also the only example of automatic LP08 available today. The LP08 prototype number 9. Of course this pistol is mandatory in a book related to Luger Arty.
Another interesting piece was Siam LP08. Unfortunately the stock serial number doesnâ??t match with the pistol one.
A good way to start this new year.
Again an happy 2003.
Ciao
