Jim,
don't be too hard. People who specialize on one gun can always beat a dealer who sells multiple guns. Dealers have to know too much about too many guns. Thats their disadvantage.
On the artillery in question here. The holster rig is the interesting thing. If it is a true Persian rig, then there is value there. When Persian Lugers were shipped out, everything was thrown mish mash into boxes. I would think that somewhere in our planet, someone is looking for the stock and holster to their Persian that would make their gun a legit matching set. So the question is, is this a righteous stock, holster and so forth to a Persian artillery?
So knock off $600 for the stock. Maybe $800 for the holster and attaching leather. The price for the artillery is now about $300-500. Not too bad for a mismatch with unknown pitting and no matching mag. But all my prices are just plain guesstimates. And you still have to find someone who wants to make their Persian artillery a rig. Do-able, but tough.
Finally, I don't think that Persian holsters are marked in any way. So there is risk in accepting a repro holster. But stocks are marked in Fausi serial numbers. The limited view of this stock looks too good to be real. But I am not real good on Persian stuff so don't hold my feet to the fire.
