Hi Frank,

Your 1917 looks like it has the fixed front sight. If it was the fine-tuned type, it would have the round screw with two turning holes on the right side...similar to the adjusting screw on your rear sight.

The 1917's Artillery started out with both front/rear adjustable, then swiched to a fixed front/adjustable rear, and finally by 1918...both sights were fixed...

p.s. We also use the Reno gun show for "show & tell". If you are driving up, be sure to bring this luger (and others you might have...)
