Thanks for the replies, guys. My Dad would have enjoyed reading these. I am fortunate to have several other "family guns" with stories attached to them. I consider these to be priceless family treasures.

The best story is about returning my Dad his Korean Era 1911A1 that my Mom made him sell when I was born. That was Xmas, 1999...it rekindled a love for firearms that we enjoyed until he died this last December. I am 45, Dad was 73. All you guys with Dads still around...pay him back with something priceless. I can't express how powerful the feeling is.
