Well, I received good news today from the head of the provincial government branch of the firearms registration department on PEI, they have checked with their Federal counterpart, and as long as I sign up for the two required firearms courses ($100.00) and apply for my firearms liscence ($80.00) by the end of December, they are going to register my Luger to me directly (as soon as they receive my registration I presume) without any additional hassles. The other bit of good news is I ran back and forth to the various branches of government and accomplished all that today while Christmas shopping for my wife.
All I have to do is drop my now completed liscence application (including social insurance number, driver's liscence, and two signatures of people who have known me for five years and will vouch for my character) off in the mail tomorrow on my way to Christmas Eve dinner at my mothers'.
So, to the best of anyone's knowledge, either mine or the various involved branches of the government, my Luger is now about to be legally and properly registered in my name, and I'm about to become a legally liscenced restricted firearms owner.
Now, all I need is money and I can become a collector! Again, thanks for all the help and information. Donald L. Wood.
