Hello Kjell,
Does your luger have a circular hole drilled into the left side of the frame and does you side plate have a vertical slot/cut ?
If not, your luger might have just had some wooden grips from another pistol placed on your gun.
Here is a photo showing the metal hole and the vertical slot/cut I mentioned...
