Hello Bob,
AWM is the acceptance stamp used by the Artilleriewerkstatten Munchen. The Artilleriewerkstatten was a technical branch specialized in the development and trials of â??itemsâ? for the German Artillery (see page 31 and 32 of my book). In particular, it was in charge for the holsters acceptance before delivering them to the units. Usually the holster shows a three lines stamp AWM/ working group/ year.
For example, my Huber pigskin holster shows AWM /1/15.
I guess that the number two in the holster you mention means second working group.
In any case, the holster you mention is a military one, used during WWI so in not related to a pre-WWI commercial production (1906 .30 Luger American Eagle).
