Early commercial Lugers, 1900 to 1908, may have "BUG" proofs, while later models will have the Crown/N proofs. See the "Technical Information" section of this forum and look under "Markings","Proof 1". Commercial Lugers exported to the United States and some other countries will also have a "GERMANY" stamp somewhere on the frame, usually under the serial number on the front of the frame, or on the side of the frame rails or receiver.
