I just noticed something. On Bill Stanley's 1906 AE, the bottom of the tail feathers are kinda pointed with the center tail feather forming the point just like in John's picture above in this threads, while the 1930 Stoeger AE made by Mauser shown on page 283 of Weimar Lugers by Still have the bottom of the tail feathers forming a smooth arc, not a point like the earlier eagles. Again this is illustrated on page 271, the Stoeger AE had the curved and smooth tail and on the next page the Stoeger Eagle has the pointed tail feathers. Am I looking cross eyed of not? Appears to be two different eagles to me. Looking at Lugers at Random I see a spattering of mixed pointed feathers and smooth tail feather eagles.
