Hi Hermann,

The Mauser Parabellums are the post-1970 Mauser production, loosely based on the Swiss machines they bought from the WF Bern.

The early versions (pre-1972) look almost exactly like the 1929 Swiss model, the later versions were changed to look more like the original P08.

The serial number for 7.65mm versions starts with 10, the serial number for 9mm versions with 11.

The Mauser box and warranty seal only mention the last part of the number, so this one should have a box numbered 14602 (both sides) and a Mauser warranty seal with the same number.

They are well-made pistols, with the Swiss U-shaped rear sight and a slightly coarsed surface in the 'ears'. Finish is deep black and very nice.

The gun should have the production year stamped on the area above the takedown-lever, when it was proofed in Germany. pre-1973 has a 2-digit year code (ie 72 for 1972), post-1973 has a 2-letter date year. Look in the 'postwar' forum for a thread on Mauser parabellums (or Interams).

I'd guess this particular Mauser dates from the early 80s.
