You are wrong. The government continually gathers information on groups that may be associated in the future (their conclusion) with activities that, they perceive, would threaten society. I believe that the government is the entity that is paranoid.
I live in Colorado. The law enforcement agencies in this state and the city of Denver keep vast files on citizens who have assiciation with groups that they feel "may" constitute a threat. This was revealed by the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News just last month and widely discussed on the radio programs in Denver. The city of Denver has been ordered by the courts to open the files upon request. They are fighting this order through appeal.
Consider this: Denver is not L.A., nor Washington, D.C., nor New York, nor Chicago, etc., etc.
How many times must this type of behavior be revealed before it ceases to be laughable?
