my grandfathers bring back
1.toggle marking-s/42
2.only thing on chamber is year of manufacture(1939)
3.the toggle knob,is round,and checkered about 3/4,on edge,and completely covered on ends
4.there is no grip safety
5.stock lug is present
6.the grips are completely checkered not sure of tpe of wood, but they are marked with last two of serial #
7.thumb safety,is present,if down shows word gesichert,in white,if up nothing but mill marks,on frame
8.no markings on grip, only marking on frame is a fancy n,on front, under serial #, 3 birds on right side of slide toward barrel:
1st bird wings out appears to be holding 83
2nd bird wings out appears to be holding 63
3rd bird wings down no numbers
Another bird like the third on barrel, right past the markingsd on slide
Under barrel, toward frame serial #,with 8.83 under it.
9.barrel is standard length, from several others i have seen, but do not have a ruler
10.marking on left side of extractor, appears to be a g,or 6,cant see any other markings on the extractor
11.rear sight is a pretty fine v notch,front shaped like a triangle,with left,and right adjustment,ramp is checked,front part of blade is rounded
12.mag bottom is aluminum (have two, both matching this weapons serial # which is 75xx) are marked with serial # across the big round part of mag bottom, fancy n,under that, with +,under that, and a bird with wings out, holding appears to be 63.
Was wondering if someone can help me find out the unit that it came from, and other ins,and outs of the piece, also have the holster marked A.FISCHER
BERLINC.2
1939
the holster sounds to be like a police holster from what i have read,is black, also has a bird wings out, holding a swaztica under the manufacture but isnt very sharp in the leather anymore, strap on front, runs up the center of holster, goes under loop on flap, and over brass knob,on flap, has mag loader,in flap, but is not numbered, also, has the former german owners name inside flap, with my granpaws, right beside it ,both in lead pencil(mirfe)is the former.
the luger is in about 90%(finish is worn off at sides of muzzle, and on side plate left side of luger(from holster wear)bore is sharp, very nice.holsteris also very nice, but front strap has lost the tip and does not have the hole that goes over the brass knob any longer, there are serial markings all over the luger (all matching, mostly the last 2 digits.
thanks for any input,thanks again
