P08's were issued through the war as primary combat weapons. (Third Reich Lugers and the new Luger book from the propaganda series shows them in use from the Eastern Front to the Western Front).

I know that the P38 was officially made the primary weapon, but since so many Lugers were in use and made till 42/43 (with scattered ones made after that) that 100,000's were in use.

I know that magazines were considered disposable, as I am guessing all guns were also. If you lost one in combat, you could get a new one issued in the US combat front.
