You are likely right Ron, thanks for this. Amazingly the Luger I found had the wooden handles quite well intact, afert 60 years under water in a lakebed. I have shown this one before here, but here is a comparison to Jan's beauty. The handles lasted better than the metal itself. Thanks for looking
