For what it's worth, my 41 byf SN 960a is a double 135 (barrel is 135 waffenampt as well). So by the alpha block in January 1942 the switch to 135 was complete. All matching, 4" 8.82 barrel, sideplate marked "10" inside. Alas, it's an early 1950s reblue. Original grips unknown (now wears an apparently repro BW set) and came with two plastic-bottom fxo 37 mags and a 655-waffenampt loading tool.
tickkk, I shoot all my guns regularly as well. Just attended the winter WWII reenactment in Hernando, FL and put a couple of mags of Win 115-gr through her during range time -- to the left of my shooting position was an MP40, to the right an MG34, so my P08 felt right at home. Talk about a noisy event! The Luger functioned flawlessly, unlike the MGs.
