Agreed on all of the above. I can't imagine that it is a "rework" by any military, German or otherwise. Someone got hold of an arty Luger with a bad or sawed off barrel (not uncommon post WWII) and replaced the barrel not knowing or caring about the sight or whether the gun would be really usable. Spare Luger barrels were sold here as surplus for some time. That barrel has a WaA but that is the inspector marking for the barrel itself. There is no indication that it was put on the gun (or any gun) in Germany. (No proofs.)
