I think you did fine Bob, even if the grips are not original. They started that gun at $3700 quite a while back, and I considered bidding on it at one time when they lowered the price to where you bought it. But I didn't like the fact that they never answered me about the grips (they are usually pretty good about responding to questions). At any rate, I think any time you can get matching Simson in decent shape under $2500 you did well. There are plenty of magazines floating around, but be careful...like anything else 100 years old, some of them have been monkeyed with. Before you buy a magazine, I'd post it up here. Simson also made a number of guns for the police, and you will see there are single police magazines out there. I would get a standard magazine for it, not a police one.
