Brass is relatively cheap for me. I have so much of it I don't bother to pick it up. At my private range beside the leather shop I hope to leave enough brass so it looks/acts like gravel.

But yes, I would go with the tarp idea if I wanted to catch it. Even then you might lose some small %.
