And that kind of hack to a K stock is the most common Bubba job you see. All is not lost though Mike. You could buy a correct replacement stock (or just a RC one) on eBay or GunBroker, if you feel like it, and got lucky. The correct type for a 42 code is a solid walnut type, with a flat buttplate, and preferably with a Herr stamp on the wood. You have an uncommon code, but that and the S/42s are the most typical pre-war K’s you seem to see.
