It might be a Martz, but there have been several post-war carbines made by folks. The barrel is 16 inches which makes it legal. It looks like it has WW1 markings on the right, close ups would help, as would the top of the carbine, with the toggle showing and any dates or possible dates.

Eugene made me a 'G' date fantasy piece, I unfortunately had to sell it to afford to buy a rare Simson.
