The cheapest and most sensible solution is to send it to GT or Tom Heller.

If I had this issue, I'd douse the contact surfaces in light oil and gently try the various suggestions in the thread. If it wouldn't budge, I'd use my heat gun to warm things a bit.

That you cannot get the toggle pin back in suggests that one side of the barrel extension is being pressed upward. This would be consistent with the hold open or its spring causing the problem, as the longer section of that part rests on the right side of the pistol.

You might name your location, perhaps there is a member nearby who can inspect.

If none of those worked, it would go off to GT or Tom.
