KJ, it's difficult to know what to make of it without more information and - hopefully - nice clear pictures with lots of detail. If marked, as I suspect, "Not English Make" then it has been proofed in England prior to 1955 as required under their laws for guns made outside of England and not having proofmarks acceptable to the English. The stamp "Not English Make" went away in 1955 according to "The Standard Directory of Proof Marks".
