I've learned that with a Luger its best to insert the magazine slowly with the magazine release putton pushed in, the tight fit precludes a quick insertion and this will save wear on magazine and release, they tend to bind if forced quickly. The Luger is definitely not a "stick it in / slap the bottom" like a .45 or M16. Tolerances are too tight
