I know that many commercial were not marked -and some weren't marked or more likely, stamped with ink and the marking just has gone away IMHO. Ink stampings I think of WW1 era and not WW2 and its definitely a post WW1 design (full leather on back) - but look under the lid for markings - or not and just know you have a army holster.
