Smokey..These can tough to actually pin down but the under the handle seam is a good place to look. Apparently originals were made with a rolled tube hence the seam and welds. The seam is tight enough to prevent a piece of paper being inserted. The welds were fairly evident. Buffing and rebluing an original would not do value any favors to be sure. So even IF this were an original..it would not be more desirable than a good repro IMO. But a guy needs some sort of loader to load drums..an original in excellent shape might run $1200 and a repro a LOT less.
