I also suggest using a Mec-Gar mag. When I shoot a Luger, I only use Mec-Gar magazines. The original magazines are very old and the springs may not be strong enough now. The feed lips can also be bad.

Mac Cat is also correct about using a firm grip. The Luger action - as with ALL semi-auto pistols - requires resistance to work properly. Any tendency to cushion the recoil by allowing the hand to move rearward during recoil will cause a malfunction. Keep your wrist stiff.
