You might also want to check the toggle lock under the right toggle knob. It's not pointed out as often as it should, but the dished toggle Lugers need the toggle pulled straight back about 3/16" before lifting.
Most ham-handed gun dealers and their uninformed customers just yank up on the toggles.
I was lucky. My lock wasn't broke.
