Default Bakelite grips

Hi Lucas, most all of the test usually outlined are somewhat vague? Might give you the results you expect, might not? So, the best test by far that I have found, is the "klink" test? What is that you say, well if you take the two grip panels and LIGHTLY tap them together, you should hear a , light resonating klinking sound if the are real thermal formed phenolic resin (heat / pressure! Bakelite) If they are fake (resin with catalyst), with the same test, you'll hear a dull thudding sound with very little resonance?
Also, the Bakelite grips are a bit heaver then the repros, and a postage scale will show this immediately… BTW, the threaded holes in the back of the grips were to aid extraction from the mold, (no sprues or runners, my opinion???) Good Luck, best, til….lat'r….GT
