A 1908 Navy doesn't have a grip safety...only the 1904 and 1906 have a grip safety. The navy dumped the grip safety when the army adopted the Luger without a grip safety in 1908. And the 1908, like the 1906, still doesn't have a chamber date (nor frame or sight dates). Dated chambers came in with the 1914 Navy.
The subject gun is a 1908 Navy, but because of the lousy photos there is no way of knowing if it is authentic.
