I also quit after reading some stuff that you can't take seriously even if your only book on the matter is that old weary Kenyon's book.
Internet as a whole and Facebook specifically brought us a whole bunch of "experts" that simply demise all the previous knlowledge accumulated by generations of researchers and collectors work.
However, after I became a museum curator I need to be in touch with new "tools" to spread the word about preservation, published works and etc.
But, when it comes daown to serious research and information, books (printed) and Forums like this and Still's are my first source.
