I believe your luger is a collection of parts, assembled and re-finished after WWII by the East Germans. The 953 is for September 1953, the date of barrel mfg and likely close to the date that the luger was re-worked.
These are commonly known as "Vopo" lugers for their East German Volkspolizei use.
The Crown/n is the EG nitro proof, and the C/U is the Viewing proof for rebuilt weapons- also East German.
Earlier proofing may have been partially removed during re-finishing; I think I can see a C/N of the 1930 time frame under the numbers on the left chamber.
Your pistol or at least part of it was at one time used by the German police, from Weimar to WWII times.
