I bought an "artillery rig" a few weeks back, thinking it was a shooter and a good holster, stock , and mag pouch. I could see there were a few leather issues, like the closure strap, and something "strange" was going on with the shoulder straps, but they appeared to be original.
Well when it arrived the leather was "worse" than expected and the pistol was better, much better. A 1920 Commercial artillery in the "i" block, but that is for another thread.
The holster had bee modified at one time for belt carry, I think- that would explain the rivet holes, which needed filling. The strap block had been removed and the leather slit cut for the shoulder strap.
After a "consutation" with Jerry, lugerholster man, I did what I could to fill the holes and seal the cuts. Sent the holster on to Jerry to replace the closure strap, add the closure tab, and the lift tab, re-stitch the cleaning rod cover, and re-stitch the loading tool pouch(which had never been closed or folded to be used).
Jerry did his usual great job- Thanks!
