Hi Mike, actually, the .30 1920 commercial barrels are usually spot on, on head space... they also index correctly and some times we can score a mint bore as well... The aftermarket barrels usually do none of the above and need a little "extra lov'en"

on the mill and lathe, not to mention polishing and throating by hand...Originals are the best by quite a bit! If we can find a nice bore, Mr. Thor or Mr. Danner can make it look new on the outside....
