Ed, I have the feeling it is not a conversion. An open flap for the grip, and buckle is pretty low on the shell. Looks like M79 to me. Just my WAG. It does look like their may be some type of grip sticking out of the holster. Not clear enough to tell for sure. Flare gun possibly? How is the weather out there? Cold here 5 deg now............John
