Default Chipped Colt Grip - Repaired !

Some years ago, I bought a used Colt Gov't Model Series 70 38 Super automatic. Great pistol, flat shooting, mild recoil, holds one more than 45 magazine.

But the left grip was chipped. When these came out, they had a wood grip with a silver medallion, rather than the customary gold medallion. Since then, Colt has used the silver wood grips on several other models, but these were original, so I wanted to keep them.

Jim Solomon did a great job of checkering my Gonzo Carbine buttstock and two forearms, so I asked Jim to take a shot at the 38 Super grip.

It came out great! The 'patch' is only noticeable in the pictures (bottom of grip). I lightened the pics to make the peaks & valleys stand out, but the grip is dark enough that the seams blend right in. Jim checkered the 'patch' to match the Colt lines.

Before & After pics below.

Great job, quick service, reasonable pricing, securely packed for shipping!

A big 'Thank You!' to Jim for this repair!
