Chiang Kai-shek.... if it were not because communist had a Chairman Mao, Chiang's nationalist regime must still be in mainland China today.. no other communists could handle Chiang. Core members of communist party knew that so they supported and tolerated Mao. Chiang was an old-fashioned man who played politics well, he could suppress enemies inside his own party, and he was capable of terminating the warlord era, but his nemesis was Chairman Mao. Chiang was a little bit unlucky, he became a transitional figure in Chinese history. But, who knows, everyone was a transitional figure in the country's few thousand years of history anyway.

The 2nd picture was pictured upside down. The four characters say "Victory Allies".
