any copies of the capture forms would be long, long gone. The military doesn't keep forms unless they are told to keep them, so usually once a soldier leaves the unit, the forms are destroyed. I have always heard that the bring back paperwork was in 2 or 3 copies - two being with the gun is not uncommon - and I assume that a copy went to some customs bloke or the like. But again, there might be a stash of them that someone misplaced or kept, but they would not have kept longer than a few years in almost every case.

I am sure it happened, but I have never heard of the documents being copied or being annotated on official military records. I have heard rumors that ''some'' marine records were annotated...
