The color is a fairly dark. Photos were taken with an iPhone. I can get daylight photos this weekend if requested.
I did not see any other markings on the holster, I'll have a closer look tonight. I got the Luger and holster for $550. Seems like that is a good price?

Don and David have answered your first question. However, you have established three data points for success in last night's test firing. Odds are that it will continue to work fine. Its dark finish is, of course typical of hot/salt bluing, but I think it appears darker than original because of the buffing applied to it beforehand, and perhaps slightly different chemistry of more a modern process. Totally acceptable at the sweet price you paid...!
