JP,

The E/135 stamps indicate that you have a somewhat scarce variation of the byf41. In late '41 the Heer changed the Mauser waffenampt stamp from E/655 to E/135. According to Jan Still there were about 4000 byf41 Lugers so marked. I believe that estimate has gone up to about 5000 by now. Then all of the byf42 production was marked with the E/135.

A price of $1400 15 years ago was an enormous price, even for that variation. A standard top condition byf41 is going for $1300 to $1500 today, at least in my experience. The E/135 would add value to that but how much depends on how bad a collector wanted that variation. I would say the added value would be in the $200 to $300 range but that is just my opinion and what I would consider paying.

I have no idea about the holster. If it is a hard shell that has had the lid removed, then it is worth very little. If it is a shoulder holster, then it would have some value and more if it has any markings which very few did.

As always, price is determined by condition, condition and condition.

BTW, the 8.82 is the measurement of the bore diameter.

Best Regards, Leon
