I just got The Luger by Walters, it is very good, and also bought Gibson's book. Both excellent. My favorites are Jan Still's Books, as they show lots of guns.

But probably the main thing is to decide what era you are interested in and what type?

For overall, as Russ said, Kenyon is a good one, lots of pictures, plus info. For specific era's, then Jan's books.

Look on-line at used book stores for many of these, also E-bay, but they'll rip you off there. Jan has recently reprinted two of his 4, 3rd Reich Lugers is available, and also Axis Pistols, this fall he will reprint Weimar Lugers.
