Although there have been a couple of right hand holsters reported, I have no knowledge of their authenticity. So essentially all the test Luger holsters were left hand...but they were intended to be worn on the right side butt forward. This was still in the day when swords were considered a weapon, so the sword and the pistol were both worn in a cross-draw fashion. In the style of the horse cavalry, the sword was drawn with the right hand and the pistol was drawn with the left hand.
