I can't be sure but it appears that the mag safety has been deactivated by clipping off the trigger block.

Since publication of HWIS, the identity of the Ma. marking has been identified as being from the Schupo of Mannheim in Baden. See item 9 on this page: http://www.historywritinsteel.com/New_Insights.html.

I note that this pistol has a circled S on the left side of the receiver as is the case with all other observed P08s from Mannheim.

A very interesting pistol.
