Then I use the hooked tool to remove the spring and guide from the frame. Same in reverse to install. This makes connecting the guide to to the lever easy. TH

OK , that got me thinking so I went out to the shop and wondered just what would I have that would do that ? And it came to me , a pair of lock ring pliers might do the job.

So I found a pair I had and fit them to the hole in the spring guide and ground them a bit so they would fit nice to the frame radius and whalla , Easy peasy , they worked Great.

Also noted that the frame cut out where the guide goes through was rough as cob and the guide itself was very rough on the sides . So that was easy to remedy .

I also found that if I greased up the hook and spring it would twist on to the guide much easier - imagine that !

This worked so well I just wanted to share this , I even found with a zip tie I could have both hands free to get the spring guide hooked up with the recoil spring lever . Snap ring pliers made this job very easy , night and day difference between trying to compress the spring with a hook tool and then look for another hand to get things together.

( In the pics below I just locked the toggle open to show how the pliers would work )
