I added the photos you requested. I seen no evidence that this Luger was ever refinished.
Since yesterday I thought this Luger was defective until I researched the Luger Catalog. This model was manufactured after the factory decided to NOT keep the toggle open after the last spent cartridge. According to the catalog the factory wanted to speed up production. Also, it was never modified to add this feature even when the German government told the factory to do so. Like the book stated, WWI complicated things so all Lugers made in 1913 were NOT sent back to the factory for modification. There is no proof stamp on this pistol showing the modification was done.
I don't know if this forum keep a list of these Lugers.
