At WW2's end and post war-these pistols were copper-zinc "combat " chromed. Reason? Many because of the salt in the sea either pitted, rusted, or tarnished while in duty aboard ship.

Interesting, never heard of "combat chrome" before. Sounds more legit if you give it a name, I suppose.
